The Civil Code of Somalia by Dr Osman Mohamed Ismail is a legal book about Somalia’s civil law. It covers important civil matters such as rights, property ownership, contracts, obligations, family-related civil issues, and how disputes between individuals are handled under the law. The Somali Civil Code was issued as Law No. 37 on 2 June 1973 and came into force on 1 July 1973. It was created to organize civil justice and provide legal rules for Somali society.
